Camp Dora Golding

Epic Centennial Celebration

America’s oldest Orthodox summer camp celebrates 100 summers with a once-in-a-century bash that’s equal parts history and high-energy fun.

Founded in 1925, Camp Dora Golding is the oldest Orthodox camp in the United States, delivering incredible summers for boys in 3rd through 10th grade for 100 years straight. The 156-acre campus’s incredible facilities include a picturesque lake, an NBA-size basketball gym, an Olympic-size pool, mini golf course, a zip line, and even a go-kart track. Over 10,000 campers have called CDG home, including major stars like Yaakov Shwekey and Mordechai Shapiro.

Vision

With their 100th summer approaching, CDG came to BLMG with a clear goal: to capture a century of unforgettable moments and blend it with the vibrant energy still rocking camp, the perfect mix of history and hip. Their vision? To use this milestone to set the stage for a major event that summer. BLMG’s mission? To help make it a day for the books.

STRATEGY

BLMG launched an 18-month campaign centered on the ‘Summer of the Century,’ AKA CDG100, with the promise of an epically legendary event in store to mark the centennial. To bring the day to life, BLMG partnered with renowned event guru Yaakov Giniger of Over the Top Strategy. Through conversations and plans, a name for the day emerged – The Celebration of the Century: 100 Summers, One Epic Weekend.

BLMG began with a full rebrand of the CDG logo, capturing the camp’s century of energy in a vibrant new look. We applied the new identity to plenty of swag, from pickleball rackets to varsity jackets, turning every item into buzz for the event well before camp even began.

For the day itself, BLMG created bold, color-packed signage to prominently showcase all the fantastic activities. But the piece that really put the day on the map was our event map, featuring the full lineup of performances, the day’s schedule, and a detailed layout of Camp Dora Golding’s expansive grounds, in a striking, yet streamlined, double-sided spread.

BLMG took to emails and social media to build excitement for the outrageously fun day. We began with intriguing teasers, gradually revealing each of the day’s highlights, and in the final days leading up to the event, creating an emphatic push to RSVP for CDG’s most epic event in a century.

BOTTOM LINE

And boy, was it epic.

The day saw CDG’s sprawling grounds welcome 1,000+ attendees: campers, alumni, and parents all gathered under cloudless summer skies. Highlights included performances by the Shnitzel Guys, a motorcycle stunt show, a parkour demonstration, a petting zoo, a monkey exhibition, and even the chance to shoot hoops with famed Knicks basketball star Miles "Deuce" McBride. A standout highlight was a BLMG-produced feature-length film of CDG’s history and meaningful, fun-filled moments over the years.

It was a day of camaraderie, nostalgia, achdus, and pure excitement, with the celebration making headlines. It impressed on all those gathered there that CDG isn’t just a great place to spend a summer, but where stories to be told forever are born.
